The short version: MessagePics prepares your photos on your device. The app does not require an account, run an analytics SDK, or upload your photos to a developer-operated server.
What this policy covers
This policy describes the MessagePics iPhone app, its Messages extension, and this website. MessagePics helps fit photos into Messages previews by creating a padded copy of a photo you select.
Photos you choose
MessagePics uses Apple’s system photo picker. The app receives access to the images you select; it does not request broad access to your photo library. Selected images are processed locally to make a JPEG for your message draft. Your original photo is not modified.
If a selected original is stored in iCloud Photos, Apple’s system picker may download it to your device. Apple’s handling of Photos and iCloud is described in Apple’s Photos privacy information.
Local settings and temporary files
Your background preference is saved on your device and shared between the app and its Messages extension. MessagePics temporarily copies the selected source image while processing it and attempts to remove that copy when processing finishes. Generated JPEGs remain in temporary storage so Messages can use them. Exports older than one day are eligible for removal when the extension next launches; deletion is not a timer running in the background.
Copies added to your message drafts or sent conversations are managed by Messages and your device settings, independently of MessagePics’s temporary-file cleanup.
Sending your photo
MessagePics adds the prepared image to a draft. You decide whether to send it and to whom. Sending uses Apple’s Messages service and your messaging configuration. Recipients may save or share images you send. MessagePics does not operate the messaging service or control recipients’ copies.
Collection, tracking, and sharing
The app has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or developer-operated photo upload service. The app does not sell selected photos or use them for advertising or model training. Apple may separately handle App Store transactions, diagnostics, iCloud services, or Messages under its own settings and privacy policies.
This website
This website does not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts, contact forms, or application cookies. Images and styles are served with the site rather than loaded from third-party font or analytics services. The hosting provider may process ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses, requested pages, and browser information, to deliver and protect the website. Private previews may also require sign-in managed by the preview provider.
Your choices
Choose which images to share through the system picker, decide whether to send each draft, and manage messages through Apple’s Messages app. Removing MessagePics removes its local app data subject to iOS storage and backup behavior. Removing the app does not recall images already sent.
Children’s privacy
MessagePics does not ask users for their age or require a profile. The app’s local photo-processing behavior is the same for all users, and the developer does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app.
